Sharon Torpey

Sharon Torpey photoSharon Torpey writes: I am a business coach and change consultant with more than 20 years’ experience of helping individuals and businesses flourish across the public and private sector. My clients include Reed Elsevier, Moben, NHS, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Arup.

The task for leaders today is extremely challenging - both ensuring the prosperity of their businesses whilst working positively with an unknowable future. I believe that successful leadership is a function of our capacity to build and sustain powerful relationships; engaging with each other and our differences in a way that is authentic and human. At the heart of this is we need to establish a strong sense of identity and belonging.

Born to Indian and British parents in the 1950s, this is a narrative I know well, growing up with the challenge of establishing myself in a world not accustomed to a ‘Hindian’ (I smiled when I recently discovered this as urban slang for being half Indian).

I have an MSc in Organisational consulting with Ashridge and am an accredited coach with the Association for Coaching.
